Swedish Squad Lineup: Isak Included Whereas Gyokeres Excluded
The striker joined the Gunners after leaving Sporting in July
Arsenal forward the Swedish attacker has been omitted in Graham Potter's maiden Sweden team selection, while Liverpool striker the talented attacker received selection
Gyokeres is set to undergo additional medical tests in the coming days following worries of a thigh issue during the Gunners's Premier League triumph at Burnley on Saturday
Gyokeres sat out Arsenal' European victory versus Slavia Prague earlier this week
Alexander Isak Back in Action
The Liverpool striker, who has been sidelined from late October because of a groin injury, was selected to play in the World Cup games versus the Swiss team (November 15th) and the Slovenian side (November 18th)
Additional England-based Call-ups
- Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall, currently rehabilitating after a head knock
- Magpies wide player Anthony Elanga
Both athletes were included in the Premier League contingent selected by former Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham boss Graham Potter
Potter's Role
Potter was named by Sweden originally temporarily in late October, under a month after he was dismissed by the Hammers
Former coach Jon Dahl Tomasson was sacked after the national team's setback against the Kosovan team in mid-October, a result which rendered straight qualification from their World Cup group out of reach
Current Standing
The Swedish team are currently last place in their qualifying group with only one point from their opening four games
Should they don't manage to finish second, there remains a chance they might take part in the secondary qualification as a result thanks to their showing in the most recent UEFA competition
