Performer Denies Anti-Vax Stance Following Voicing Controversial Covid Documentary
The acclaimed actor has lent his voice to a new documentary that challenges the safety of immunizations and lauds ex- cabinet secretary the political figure.
The Feature's Provocative Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a bestselling book published by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for claims that Covid was caused by a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.
The publication's co-author, a producer, has also written books with far-right media personality a known commentator. The producer wrote online praising Neeson's role in the project.
A Strong Denial
The team of the actor have provided a statement strongly denying implications that he holds anti-vaccine beliefs.
"We all recognize that unethical practices can exist within the drug industry, but that cannot be confused with being against vaccines," the statement explains. "He has never been, and is not, against vaccines. His extensive work with the global charity underscores his enduring support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."
It added that the actor was not involved in crafting the film's messaging and that questions about its content should be directed to the producers.
Central Assertions In the Film
According to the documentary, the voiceover spoken by Neeson features several provocative claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have called for "blind obedience" to government bodies.
- It posits that "science has become dangerously politicised."
- RFK Jr is interviewed stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
- It further attacks Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
- On the topic of Covid vaccines, it cites a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."
Past Background and Current Disputes
The documentary also references a historical film about AIDS medication trials on children, which was subsequently the subject of a formal apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.
Recently, the political figure called on the CDC to alter its long-held position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism. This assertion is repeated in the film, contrary to a recent study from the WHO stating no connection has been found.
A Past Record of Support
Contrasting the documentary's message, Neeson has formerly voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," noting that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."
The film concludes with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This marks not the conclusion of our journey. It is the dawn of a new chapter."
